Lilly, Quincy, Davis, Elliot and Jeff admiring the surface of Mars. Jeff commented that it looks just like Fruita. Pack up the bikes, Jeff is heading to Mars!
Davis posing with the bones of an Alosaurus. We could only fit Ali's head in the photo...he is long!
Davis and one of the mummies. This mummy is 3000 years old!
Lilly posing with a modern day replica of a mummy case. It was too spooky to pose with the real mummies.
Digging for dinosaur bones. This kept the kids busy for quite awhile. A good break from all that walking!
Lilly, Davis and Elliot pose with some caribou.
The kid crew hanging out in a Native American Hogan, the single family home of the Southwest Native Americans. Elliot enjoyed sharing all of her knowledge about the Native Americans as we toured the exhibit, since she studied them in her third grade class this year. She must have a really good teacher!
Davis is about to be eated by a boa constrictor...oh my!
After our muesum tour we checked into our hotel, The Hotel Monaco. Boy...we felt like royal citizens at the hotel. The hotel is extremely kid and dog friendly. As we walked in there was a chalk board that greeted our Buddy Boy. Guests who don't have a pet, get a goldfish to keep them company. Because the hotel staff didn't want the Place children to be envious of the Pribramsky goldfish, they gave us two goldfish too. Did I mention, they also provided the kids with their own plush robes! The kids loved playing in the adjoining hotel rooms, walking around in their plush robes, and taking care of their goldfish. The hotel staff didn't want the parents to feel left out, so they gave the parents some free local Colorado beers! Wow...what a trip!
Daivs and his goldfish, Sushi, and Lilly and her goldfish, Scarlet.
The girls couldn't contain their fun!
