Back to school and Lilly earns her first ever 5 star day in Kindergarten. She earned her stars for listening, sitting during circle and giving the teacher good eye contact, and for participating. Wow...what a super star day. We celebrated with an afterschool snack, a frosty at Wendy's. Then we went out to dinner to Pazzo's, Lilly's favorite! We are so proud!

Vacation ~ Days 6 & 7
Day 6 of vacation required a vacation from vacation. Lilly and mom got caught up on laundry, hung out around the house and baked some brownies. Day 7 Lilly and mom went skiing in Arrowhead. Lilly is quite the skier. She has really good edge control and skis ice like any New Yorker!
Mom and Lilly taking a M&M break at Mamie's Deck, top of Bachelor Gulch.
Lilly skiing in a kid zone. Along the way we read signs that taught us about deer, so Lilly grew some of her own antlers.
While this is really vacation day 5 in Denver, I had to include that we bought hockey sticks for the family. Davis is very excited about playing hockey, which we hope to do on vacation day number 8 or 9.

Vacation ~ Days 4 and 5
For a mini-getaway we packed up the car, the kids, and the dog and went to Denver to go to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Lilly was very curious about the mummies and Davis was over the top excited to visit the special exhibit: Snakes and Lizards. Here are a few pictures of the kids, as well as our pals, Quincy & Elliot Pribramsky at the museum.
Lilly, Quincy, Davis, Elliot and Jeff admiring the surface of Mars. Jeff commented that it looks just like Fruita. Pack up the bikes, Jeff is heading to Mars!
Davis posing with the bones of an Alosaurus. We could only fit Ali's head in the photo...he is long!
Davis and one of the mummies. This mummy is 3000 years old!
Lilly posing with a modern day replica of a mummy case. It was too spooky to pose with the real mummies.
Digging for dinosaur bones. This kept the kids busy for quite awhile. A good break from all that walking!
Lilly, Davis and Elliot pose with some caribou.
The kid crew hanging out in a Native American Hogan, the single family home of the Southwest Native Americans. Elliot enjoyed sharing all of her knowledge about the Native Americans as we toured the exhibit, since she studied them in her third grade class this year. She must have a really good teacher!
Davis is about to be eated by a boa constrictor...oh my!
After our muesum tour we checked into our hotel, The Hotel Monaco. Boy...we felt like royal citizens at the hotel. The hotel is extremely kid and dog friendly. As we walked in there was a chalk board that greeted our Buddy Boy. Guests who don't have a pet, get a goldfish to keep them company. Because the hotel staff didn't want the Place children to be envious of the Pribramsky goldfish, they gave us two goldfish too. Did I mention, they also provided the kids with their own plush robes! The kids loved playing in the adjoining hotel rooms, walking around in their plush robes, and taking care of their goldfish. The hotel staff didn't want the parents to feel left out, so they gave the parents some free local Colorado beers! Wow...what a trip!
Daivs and his goldfish, Sushi, and Lilly and her goldfish, Scarlet.
The girls couldn't contain their fun!

Vacation ~ Day 3
Three days into vacation and we have another adventure. We went to Nottingham Park in Avon and went pond skating. We even brought a hockey puck and tossed it around on the ice. By the time we left both kids were stable and able to skate from one side to the other with minimal falling. We might even try to buy some hockey sticks to add to our toys.
Vacation ~ Days 1 and 2
Lilly and mommy have the week off from school. Daddy and Davis are taking a bunch of days off too. So each new day brings a new activity. Our first day we scootered to the park and played in the sunshine. Day two we went ice skating. Here is a picture of Davis taking a break at the ice rink. He like pretending he was a hockey guy.
Mardi Gras
In preparation for Mardi Gras the kids wore masks to get in the mood. Bead throwing will take place next.

Going to Bed?!
Here is a small sampling of us getting ready for bed. Apparently, "Go brush your teeth," can be translated into, "Put on all of your cowboy accessories, run around the house, and yell, 'Hiyah!'" Wish the parents luck putting these two cowpokes to bed!

Valentine's Day
Lilly enjoyed her school Valentine's party. She got some yummy snacks and decorated a cute mailbox. Most of all, she enjoyed getting all dressed up for the occasion.
