Lilly's Birthday, Part 2

Pal Sierra, Lilly, and Mr. Phil holding Lilly's birthday cake.

Ms. Alison singing Happy Birthday to Lilly Bug.

Lilly's birthday celebration continued at school. Her school makes every birthday girl feel like Queen for a day. It is something Lilly looks forward to all year long. They sing a few different songs, pick a special present out of the treasure chest, and enjoy birthday cake. The video is of Lilly sitting in Miss Allison's lap singing the Rumpel version of Happy Birthday.

Lilly's 5th Birthday

A new pair of sparkly shoes!

Tangled jammies from Aunt Kimmy. Thanks Aunt Kimmy!

A Flynn Rider doll from Aunt Kimmy and a Rapunzel doll from Grandma Jill. Thanks for my new dolls! I played with them for hours!

My birthday cupcake.

Happy Birthday!

Can it be? My Lilly Bug is 5 years old! When we came home from camping this weekend, Lilly was surprised to find the dining room table covered in birthday presents. Grubby and tired, she opened up her presents and ooohh and ahhed over each and every one. Among her favorites were her Tangled dolls and sparkly shoes. She was so tired by the end of her family celebration that she blew out the candle on her cupcake and then couldn't even eat it. Luckily she had another party at school the next day. Lilly's 5th birthday, part 2 soon coming...

Mother's Day Weekend

Lilly met some new friends on our bike adventure. To her left is Emma and to her right is Kate; sisters from Basalt. Tatum Wells is on the far right; a good pal from school.

Davis riding mommy's bike. Looks like a perfect fit!

This weekend Jeff was in Fruita doing an 18 hour bike race with his friends, so we decided to join them and spend yet another weekend in the pop-up. Lilly, Davis, and Mommy joined daddy and the rest of the Street Swell Teams on Saturday. The kids enjoyed playing with friends, playing in the dirt, and Davis most of all enjoyed riding his bike and trying out everyone else's bikes too! I think we will get him a 29er for his birthday.

Camping in Fruita

Jeff was in Fruita all week and the rest of us joined him for the weekend to escape the 4 inches of snow that appeared in Eagle on Saturday morning. Mom got a lot of mountain biking in, while dad played in the dirt with the kids. Davis rode his bike pretty much the entire time. Lilly enjoyed creating things in the dirt and doing a lot of 'pretend' play. Davis made some sleeping improvements too! He stayed in his sleeping bag, didn't use mommy's head for a pillow, and only talked to mommy for one hour before falling asleep. We are going camping again next weekend to watch daddy do his 18 Hours of Fruita bike race. Who knows...maybe Davis will make even more improvements sleeping in the camper. Stay tuned...

Easter

Easter Morning! The Easter Bunny came to our house this morning! Lilly and Davis were so excited to find easter baskets full of fun little toys, books, and candy right by our front door. Davis had a ton of chocolate for breakfast and Lilly has really enjoyed all the little gifts, like a bunny necklace and a light up bunny rabbit. Thanks Easter Bunny!

Inaugural Pop-Up Camping Trip

Lilly and Davis riding bikes and playing at our campsite.

Davis and Brogan Murray having a bike race.

We did it...our first family camping experience. We took the pop-up, the dog, the bikes, and headed to Fruita for a fun family camping experience with the Murray Family. Mom and dad took turns riding their mountain bikes in Loma with Ronan, while the kids played on the rocks and in the dirt. We really enjoyed the camper experience, especially since it poured our last night. I think there was even a little bit of snow! Davis is still pop-up training, as he had a hard time settling in and sleeping. We may need to do some more pop-up training in the garage before our next outing.
