When I Grow Up

Lilly had career day at school last week.  As a part of their career unit, Lilly had to research and create a project on a career that she would like to be when she grows up.  Her immediate choice was to be a horseback rider.  I tried to explain that it is near impossible to make horseback riding a career; that in fact is usually costs money to ride horse and rarely do people make money riding horses.  Nonetheless, Lilly decided she wanted to be a horseback rider when she grows up, so we researched.  She asked her Aunt Kimmy lots of questions and we visited the Cordillera Stables in Edwards and did all kinds of research.  We talked with Ms. Rebecca who owns several ponies, we talked to a vet who was working on a horse, and we watched a farrier shoe a horse.  Her project and her presentation were a big success.  She did an amazing job and was confident and proud of herself.  We were so proud too!

Dressed from head to toe and ready for her presentation.
All set up and presenting her project to inquiring guests.
One more picture, but if you look really close you can see a hole where Lilly's tooth used to be!  She literally lost her first tooth that morning on a field trip to the dentist's office!

Soccer

Lilly started her Spring soccer league.  While she practices, Davis and mommy play on their own 'pretend' team.  Davis calls mommy coach and he even has his own team jersey.  I think we need to sign Davis up for his own soccer session next time!

Spring Break

We had the best Spring Break! Aunt Kimmy visited us from NY and we took her camping in Fruita. The kids rode their bikes from 8 in the morning until 8 in the evening. Mommy and Aunt Kimmy got in a few rides as well, and I guess daddy got to do some riding too. The weather was mostly nice, we all got nice tans, and enjoyed the time together outside. The best part was spending time with Aunt Kimmy!

Lilly and Davis chillin in their double camp chair.

Davis flying down the hill near our campsite.  He did this about a million times!
While out biking one day, we made our own bathroom.  Davis was there for moral support.
Kelly and Kimmy take a break to pose for a photo while riding Mary's Loop in Loma.
We visited friends at Highline State Park, which has a lake.  The kids played in the freezing cold water and Lilly made a mud ice cream cone.

Happy Easter

The kids went to an Easter Egg Hunt in Lionshead over Easter weekend.  They got to fill up their baskets full of eggs and then trade them in for toys.  They even got to see the Easter Bunny.  If that wasn't enough, we went to Aunt Marcey and Uncle Will's for Easter dinner and we had our own Easter Egg Hunt in their backyard.  Boy...Easter was a fun weekend!

First Mani

Last week Lilly completed her good choices chart at home.  The reward was her first ever mani.  We walked into the salon without an appointment and they were booked!  Lilly was near tears when the women took a look at her sad face and squeezed her in.  She felt like a princess and now looks like one too with pretty pink fingernails!

Decorating Easter Eggs

It was such a nice weekend out that we decided to decorate our Easter Eggs outside.  While waiting for the color to set on the eggs, the kids rode their bikes, played soccer, and kept busy with outside activities.
