Party at the Park

Mackenzie Messmer turned 2, so a party at the park was in order. The kids enjoyed a nice summer day (finally) on the swings and licked off all the pink frosting on the birthday cupcakes. YUM!

America's Got Talent

Lilly had her dance recital tonight, and as you can tell from the video she is a shining star. Her moves are sharp and well rehearsed. She clearly has a future in dance and theater. Davis enjoyed watching his sister dance around, but got a little sad when he couldn't participate.

Birthday Party #2

Lilly enjoyed another birthday party at the Gypsum Gymnastic Center. She had about 10 little friends come to her party. They launched into the foam pit, jumped all over the many trampolines, and practiced somersaults. Then we all sang happy birthday and devoured cupcakes. Lilly had lots of fun and felt so very special, as any princess in training should feel.

Birthday Party #1

I cannot believe that my Lilly Bug is turning 4 tomorrow. My baby is no longer a baby...wow! Today she had a birthday party at school. Birthdays at Rumpelstiltskin Preschool are top notch events. The kids get a birthday crown, they get to choose a gift out of the treasure chest, and they are sang to and made to feel special all day. It is a day that Lilly looks forward to all year long! In this picture she is with one of her favorite teachers, Mr. Phil, who is married to her other favorite teacher in the video, Ms. Allison. Fun little tidbit...my first job in the Vail Valley was at Rumpelstiltskin Preschool and Ms. Allison is the owner's daughter. I have known her since she was 10 years old. I taught her how to drive, and now she is my daughter's teacher...pretty cool!

Naughty and Nice

Davis is in this phase where he goes from naughty to nice in the blink of an eye. One moment he is giving unsolicited hugs and kisses, and the next moment he is emptying out all of Lilly's drawers after I have folded all of her clothes and neatly tucked them away. Here Davis is helping out shoveling (nice) and in the other picture he has emptied out the cereal cupboard and is eating pancake mix (naughty). Never a dull moment in this household!
